Taco night - but make it Middle Eastern 🇱🇧
This is my take on an easy, family-friendly Middle Eastern inspired feast that works a lot like Taco night. its choose your own adventure and my mob love it. Its eating across the rainbow in the very best, most delicious way.
Pistachio, date & chocolate slice
This pretty little recipe by Fatimah Omran is one she made for her family during Ramadan when she got sick of eating dates, but also wanted to use the excess she had in her house.
So rich and nutrient-dense - you only really need a little bit to hit the spot with your morning coffee or afternoon cuppa.
Lebanese-inspired bean salad
I’ve been making ‘Dense Bean Salads’ since well before the lovely Violet Witchel coined the term (they’re now a viral Tik Tok trend).
Whatever you call them, these bean salads are such an amazingly delicious way to cram a heap of fibre, protein and nutrients into your day and a total breeze to throw together.
Lamb kofta with whipped feta & yoghurt dip
These kofta are fabulous entertaining food as they’re easy to whip up in advance and great for a crowd. Punchy middle-Eastern flavours that you can dial up or down depending on your guests, which pairs beautifully with the whipped feta situation for creaminess and zest.
Choc-full-of-veg Muffins
Choc-full-of-veg-muffins are your next lunchbox power move.
Gluten free, dairy free, more or less refined sugar free but ABSOLUTELY NOT flavour free - these nutritious little beauties will leave you wondering how its even possible they taste this good. Best eaten straight out of the oven.
Nacho usual (boring) kale salad
This is nacho usual kale salad. Bold, bright and full of flavour, it’s everything you love about Mexican food — smoky spices, creamy avocado, crunchy tortilla chips — wrapped up in one nutrient-dense bowl.
Raw broccolini & herb salad with cannellini beans
Young sprouting broccoli shines in this recipe where its finely chopped and tossed with with lots of nuts, seeds, herbs, parmesan cheese, beans and pickled bits like olives & jalapeños.
You can just feel this salad doing your insides good as you eat it - there’s no wonder its one of my most popular recipes to date.
Marinated butter beans
Marinated butter beans. Probably the most humble side dish that gets by far the most praise whenever I serve them. Proof that the simplest food is always the best 🍋
Asparagus tart with ricotta & dill
When it comes to Spring entertaining or light lunches - nothing quite compares to an asparagus and ricotta tart. Here is my take on the classic - and its way easier than what you think!
Za’atar roasted cauliflower & rice salad with chick peas & fennel
This salad has classic Middle Eastern flavours which are a match made in heaven with roasted cauliflower. Packed with fibre, resistant starch (aka gut health gold) and bursting with goodness - it stands on its own as a meal or can be served as a side.
An LCM Bar went on a health retreat…
My take on the ‘LCM Bar’ - its just had a massive glow up and isn’t full of chemicals. Perfect for lunch boxes and morning tea rooms everywhere 🍋
Baked sardines with lemon, capers & olives
Rich in hormone and heart-supporting omega-3 fatty acids, protein, prebiotic fibre, and delicious salty, briny goodness—these baked sardines are truly punching above their weight. Give them a try, and your body will thank you ✨
Lemon, herb & garlic braised chicken with butter beans
A one pan wonder perfect for mid week dinners. Feels fancy but without the fuss - and packed with protein, fibre and deliciously fresh flavours ✨
Good Chocolate Slice
The perfect piece of slice to pair with a cup of herbal tea - rich in anti-inflammatory ingredients and plant protein. Its a true after noon or dinner delight ✨
