good plates
Simple, wholesome recipes you’ll actually want to make.
Good Plates are all about real food, real flavour and meals that fit into everyday life, whether you need quick midweek dinners, family favourites or something a little more considered for when you have the time.
Banana bread that doesn’t suck (GF)
Everyone needs a banana bread recipe in their life. This naturally gluten-free loaf is packed with protein, healthy fats and fibre, making it the perfect nourishing snack—especially when served warm with plenty of butter.
Chicken & fennel tray bake with citrusy miso dressing
Inspired by a clever Alison Roman chicken recipe, with a Good Plate twist. Crispy chicken, sweet winter oranges and fragrant fennel — a simple, flavour-packed dinner the whole family loves.
Potato, white bean & Jerusalem artichoke soup
Winter comfort in a bowl. Jerusalem artichokes bring earthy flavour and a serious prebiotic fibre boost — so go easy on them if you're prone to a little tooting... or don't. Your call.
Turkish fig, orange & dark chocolate slice
Need a break from the date(ing) scene?
Here I’ve taken Turkish figs (instead of dates) and made them into the base of a lunchbox friendly treat that is both indulgent and nourishing in equal measures.
Easy Grilled Med-Style Chicken for Lazy Nights
So simple, so versatile, so delicious. Underrated. There really are no rules when it comes to what flavours you marinate your chicken bits with - so use what I’ve done as simply a guide and have some fun.
‘Choccy Road’
This is my take on the classic Australian slice Rocky Road. Here I’ve used lots of nuts, seeds and dried fruit to give the delicious texture and (natural) sweetness the Rocky Road is famous for.
Blueberry & Chia Mini Muffins
When treating yourself actually means nourishing your body - you know you’re in for a win. No refined sugar - just simple, natural sweetness and goodness that ticks all the boxes. The perfect lunchbox treat.
‘Ratatouille’ for breakfast (or whenever you like)
This is a bit of a mashup that brings together a French classic, and a Middle Eastern icon. So good for leftovers as the flavours get better and better as the days go on. Hope you love it,
Braised white beans with chicken meatballs and cavatelli
A family favourite recipe that I’ve adapted over the years - have with or without pasta - and always double the meatballs so you have some in the freezer for a lazy, rainy day. Don’t skimp on the parmesan either.
One pot teriyaki chicken rice (that your kids will love)
My family absolutely LOVED this dish. The home made teriyaki sauce has a beautiful sweetness that comes from only a little raw sugar. Go hard on the accompaniments like chilli sauce for the not so little kids for extra flavour and fun!
No bake chocolate & coconut energy bliss balls
The perfect filling and chocolatey snack for when you’re on the run. A cinch to make too!
EMW || Nana’s Mountain Miso caramel
This stuff is actually addictive. Serve with my plum and pear crumble and vanilla gelato - a little goes a looooong way!
EMW || Radicchio, fennel & herb salad with citrus miso dressing
Fresh, crunchy and full of goodness and zing. SO many health benefits in this one! Get your lips around it.
EMW || Plum pear hazelnut crumble
Plum, pears, hazelnuts & miso are a match made in sweet umami heaven. Photo credit Carmen’s Kitchen - I will upload my own once I take a decent one - but you get the idea!

EMW || Miso marinated lamb cutlets
These little beauties are marinated to perfection with lots of punchy ingredients - think deep flavours, nourishing and tender goodness.
EMW || Braised Cavalo Nero, pine mushrooms & white beans
The perfect, nourishing and protein rich Autumnal dish with white beans, freshly foraged mushrooms & Tuscan kale. Just get the best mushrooms you can find!
A Good Caesar Salad
A nourishing, seasonal twist on a classic - crunchy, creamy, deeply savoury and full of fibre, protein and gut-loving goodness.
Pesto white beans in a miso broth
A Good Spin on the classic Genovese pesto pasta - but make it gut loving, gluten free, deliciously high in fibre & plant protein plus packing in a HEAP of fresh basil flavour. Oh - and make it as brothy as you wish!
Plum & hazelnut torte (gf)
My take on the iconic New York Times Cooking recipe by Marian Burros - but gluten & refined sugar free, with some added nuts for more goodness.
Anti-inflammatory super seed loaf
I could use so many different adjectives for this loaf - super, amazing, splendid - but of course the one that you care most about is ‘delicious’ - and it is!
This anti-inflammatory, gluten & dairy free loaf is dense, filling and lends itself to both sweet & savoury toppings. A little really goes a long way and your gut will thank you for all the goodness you’ve just given it 🍞
